Past Exhibits
Terry Gunderson Shulta
Wausau-based artist Terry Gunderson Shulta creates distinctive abstract works by applying paper, glue, ink, and miscellaneous other items to canvases. She describes her process as intuitive – when she begins a piece, she has no concept in mind and no plan about where the piece will go. “The toughest part is knowing when a piece is complete,” she says. Terry graduated from University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art.
Betsy Popp - Residency Retrospective
In 2001, artist Betsy Popp was accepted for an Artist-in Residence program on Sapelo Island, Georgia. Since then, she has completed ten more residencies – in several U.S. national parks, at the Porcupine Mountain State Wilderness Area, the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan, the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay, the Intercultural ODYSSEYS NGO in San Ramon, Costa Rica, and at The Idaho Art Lab, St. Anthony, Idaho. Her exhibit in the Nicolet Art Gallery is drawn from the art created during those residencies. It includes oil paintings, pastels, wood sculptures, acrylic painting, and watercolors.

Each year, hundreds of artists nationwide submit work to be considered for inclusion. The competition strives to showcase a cross section of contemporary art in a variety of two-dimensional mediums.
