Beginning to Advanced Firefighting Skills
Career and volunteer firefighters serve a vital role in our communities to save and protect both lives and property. Central to all fire training courses are hands-on, real-world scenarios using a wide variety of equipment and techniques. You'll receive comprehensive training from entry-level courses through increasingly advanced courses which lead to state certification as Fire Officer. In addition, you can enroll in Hazardous Materials Operation and Technician courses to respond to Hazmat incidents.

Students attending any continuing education classes (except contract courses) must be pre-registered. If a class has less than 10 students registered, it will be canceled three days prior to the start date. If a student hasn't registered, they will not be listed on the roster, and will not be notified of the cancellation. Therefore, it is imperative that ALL students register and pay well in advance of any Fire, EMS, or Traffic Safety class. Students sponsored by a qualifying fire department need not send money with registrations for state-funded classes. To qualify for this option, students must list their fire department on the registration form.
