Nicolet College Automotive Student Awarded Industry Scholarship

Nicolet College Automotive Technician student Tony Malek recently received a scholarship from the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Association Foundation and Snap-On Tools that includes up to $750 a semester for tuition and a collection of Snap-on Tools valued at more than $4,000. 

The competitive, state-wide scholarships are awarded to students based on their involvement in the auto industry in and out of the classroom, academic standing, future goals, and community involvement, along with other factors. 

“The foundation couldn’t have selected a better recipient of this scholarship than Tony,” said Nicolet Automotive Technology Instructor Chris Kolasa. 

“He already has a great set of technical skills for a first-year student and you can readily see his passion to learn even more. I’m quite certain he will go on to have a successful career in the automotive industry and this scholarship will help him do exactly that.” 

Annually, the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Association Foundation and Snap-On Tools award more than 60 scholarships to students in automotive programs in the Wisconsin Technical College System. To date they have awarded more than 2,100 scholarships. 

Malek, from Rhinelander, is enrolled in Nicolet’s two-year Automotive Technician program. The college also offers a one-year Automotive Service Technician program.
