All things Nicolet College will be on full display Thursday, Oct. 20, when the college hosts an all-campus Open House from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Nicolet is here to serve all residents in the Nicolet College District and we wanted to give the general public the chance to explore the many, many different opportunities available to them through the college,” said Nathan Zorn, Nicolet admissions representative and Open House coordinator.

“While perhaps best known for college credit classes that lead to great careers, there’s an additional side of the college that focuses on personal enrichment and lifelong learning no matter where individuals are in life. The Open House will bring all of this under one umbrella for people to explore the areas that interest them the most.”

Those interested in earning a college education have more than 70 programs to select from. College credentials include short-term certificates, which take as little as a few months to complete, one-year technical diplomas, and two-year associate’s degrees.

The college also offers the University Transfer Liberal Arts program where students can complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree and then seamlessly transfer to a four-year campus.

The college also offers a rich array of student services which all have the singular goal of helping students succeed at Nicolet. At the Open House information will be available on financial aid and scholarships, career exploration and academic advising, disability support services, library services, and how students can earn college credits while still in high school, along with others.

The non-credit list of opportunities is just as varied and lengthy as the traditional academic side of campus.

These include tribal outreach partnerships, entrepreneurship training, the Nicolet Live! Performing Arts Series, the Nicolet Art Gallery, Outdoor Adventure program, Learning in Retirement, and community education classes.

Many of the information tables will be located in the Lakeside Center on the Rhinelander campus. Academic labs and classrooms across campus in other buildings will also be open for tours, with instructors on hand to give brief overviews of their programs and answer any questions.
