Four New Trustees Join Nicolet College Board
The Nicolet College Board welcomed four new trustees and also swore in a returning board member at its recent annual organizational meeting.
New to the board are Scott Foster, Eagle River, Rubie Gauthier, Minocqua, Dianne Lazear, Tomahawk, and Ryan Zietlow, Rhinelander. Returning to the board for her third term is Sharon Nielsen, Eagle River.
Foster is the school district administrator at Northland Pines High School in Eagle River. He received his District Administrator Certificate from Edgewood College in Madison and his master's degree from Viterbo University, La Crosse, WI. He has previously served as the Principal, Director of Instruction, and Director of Technology at Northland Pines. Scott received the Wisconsin Rural School Alliance State Administrator of the Year Award, and the Award of Excellence from the Wisconsin Technology Education Association.
Gauthier is co-owner of Sitecast, a Minocqua-based software company that helps technology partners and web developers optimize processes and business workflows. She graduated from the University of Washington - Tacoma with a bachelor’s degree in Computing and Software Systems. Over the years she has been invited to present at high schools and universities on setting career goals and has also mentored numerous students on this topic.
Lazear is a retired faculty member of Nicolet College. She previously served as an instructor for Business Management and Liberal Arts programs and also served as the dean of Instruction. Lazear received her bachelor’s of arts degree in Art from Willamette University in Salem Oregon, her master’s of Public Administration in Municipal Management from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh; and conducted her Ph.D. studies in public administration at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She’s also received the UW-Oshkosh University Teaching Excellence Merit Award and the Nicolet Teaching Merit Award. Wisconsin governor appointments include the Governor's Wisconsin Domestic Abuse Council and the Governor's Wisconsin Campus Safety Task Force.
Zietlow is the Chief Executive Officer at the YMCA of the Northwoods in Rhinelander. He served previously as the executive director at the Greater Green Bay YMCA; Technology Coordinator, Physical Education Teacher, and Athletic Director all at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School in Pulaski. He received his bachelor of science degree in Physical Education at UW-Stevens Point.
Nielsen is a private practice attorney in Eagle River. This will be her third term on the Nicolet College Board of Trustees. She’s served on the Headwaters Council for Performing Arts Board, Olsen Memorial Library Foundation Board, Northland Pines School Board, Camp AweSum Board of Directors, and as the Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound Coordinator. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, and a bachelor’s of science in Consumer Economics from the University of Massachusetts.
The board also elected officers at the meeting. Nielsen was elected chair, Bob Martini, Rhinelander, vice chair, Bob Egan, Eagle River, secretary, and Lazear as treasurer.
Other members on the nine-member board are Linda Skallerud, Crandon, and David Solin, Antigo.
