Author Visit & Discussion: Carol Dunbar
Free Community Event
Carol Dunbar left her life in the city to live off the grid and is the author of The Net Beneath Us, winner of the Edna Ferber Fiction Book Award. She writes from a solar-powered office on the second floor of a water tower where she lives in the woods of Wisconsin with her husband, two kids, and a Great Pyrenees Mountain Dog.
In the summer of 2002, author Carol Dunbar moved off the grid to the woods of Northern Wisconsin with her husband and their 18-month-old daughter. They set up a wood shop powered by a diesel generator and sold custom furniture at art fairs across the country. In the fall of 2006 when their son was two, her husband had an accident with a table saw that became the springboard for her first novel, The Net Beneath Us. Come hear Dunbar talk about the trials and triumphs of an alternative lifestyle and how the trees helped her to evolve by teaching her how to become a better human being.
This presentation is part of our Earth Day Fair from 3 - 7 pm.
