The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
This is an initial course for Healthcare Providers. Many healthcare industries and professionals are required to have this level of CPR training. This course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics. This course includes adult, child, and infant CPR and AED use in addition to bag-valve mask ventilation and how to care for someone who is choking. American Heart Association BLS certification will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.
